The purpose of the North Carolina On-Site Wastewater Contractors and Inspectors Certification Board is to protect the environment and public health, safety, and welfare by ensuring the integrity and competence of on-site wastewater contractors and inspectors; to require the examination of on-site wastewater contractors and inspectors and the certification of their competency to supervise or conduct the construction, installation, repair or inspection of on-site wastewater systems; to establish minimum standards for ethical conduct, responsibility, training, experience, and continuing education for on-site wastewater system contractors and inspectors; and to provide appropriate enforcement procedures for rules adopted by the NCOWCICB.
If you have additional question, please contact Connie Stephens, NCOWCICB Executive Director, at (336) 202-3126. All correspondence to NCOWCICB should be mailed to NCOWCICB - P.O. Box 132 - Lawsonville, N.C. 27022
IMPORTANT
NCOWCICB renewal invoices have been sent out to all who currently hold certification. At the time the certification card was issued, there was a notice sent to each certification holder that continuing education must be received by Nov. 15, 2008. The NCOWCICB still adheres to this deadline. For those certification holders that have met the cutoff date for their c/e and submit their renewal invoice by Dec. 1, 2008, their new certification card for 2009 will be received by Jan. 1, 2009.
For those who do not meet the cutoff of Nov. 15, 2008 and/or do not submit their renewal fee by Dec. 1, 2j008, there is no guarantee that their renewal will be processed in time to hold certification on Jan. 1, 2009. Those attending c/e after Nov. 15, 2008 and needing c/e hours to renew for 2009 will receive credit for those hours; however, the issuance of renewal will most likely not be received until the end of January. There are still classes available prior to the cutoff of Nov. 15, 2008, and you are encoraged, if you need these hours, to attend one of those classes.
